Norfolk Dialect - Letter to Eastern Daily Press

Dear Sar,

I wanted to rit to you abut that noo bridge thes putting up ovr the drift rud from Thorp to Blofld.

That in’t rit a’tall, thats been a crazing me to keep gorping at it. Every day that I driv to Wimdham for my work I see them a thakcing and a shuving but from what I see they han’t larned proper at skool how to even put a ligger offer a dike.

Them concrete pusts on the south side are all on the sosh, the pusts on the north side are on the huh and the blummin thing aint even slant-and-dicular to the main rud. What ever are they playing at? Wus than that, when they cum to drop in the middle bit thus Sunday (when all of us shud be in church praying for rain) they will have to jiffle abut to mak it fit as blast me that aint straight.

Plus some poor boy ha got to get up there and put the ribbets to mak the join on the steel hanging ovr the main rd. Thatd be a job for some Ipswich bor I reckon.

fare ye well together
